We're looking for a Manager of Income Taxes to join our Corporate Tax department in Richmond, VA.
If you’re up for the challenge, you’ll be responsible for preparing federal and state income tax returns for Altria Group, Inc. and its domestic subsidiaries and will assist with a broad range of tax analysis, including audit responses, tax accounting and other projects.

This is what you’ll do to help us succeed:

* Use your expertise to prepare income tax extensions, estimates and tax returns.
* Apply your experience to prepare and analyze monthly general ledger reconciliations for tax reporting accounts, complete journal entries and assist with quarterly and year-end provision calculations.
* Use your engagement skills to lead projects to identify, resolve and document proper tax compliance for issues.
* Utilize your technical skills to support tax audits by retrieving and analyzing relevant data, researching tax authorities, developing talking points and audit strategies, preparing written communications to auditors, representing the company at meetings with tax auditors, and maintaining audit files.
* Use your collaboration skills to provide support to internal departments toward ensuring business activities are tax compliant.
* Research, monitor, and communicate tax rate and rule changes.

Specific Skills

Does this describe you?

* A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax or business with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience working in the area of federal, state or local tax.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills;
* Strong multi-tasking ability.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
* Preferred experience or working knowledge of SAP, Corptax Compliance and Provision.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills.
* Excellent organizational skills, a self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines.
* Agility to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
* Comfortable working independently as well as in teams.
* Willing to accommodate occasional travel and overtime during peak periods.
