Business Support Strategy Business Development



Drive strategy & business development in the new and evolving legal cannabis space for a Fortune 200 CPG company with an investment in a Canadian cannabis company. Do you have a Bachelor’s degree along with 7+ years of relevant CPG experience? If so, we want to speak with you! We are currently seeking a Manager Strategy & Business Development in our Strategic Investments group in Richmond, VA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex business assignments in the rapidly evolving legal cannabis category to include, but not limited to, compliantly coordinating services to Canadian-based Cronos Group, business analytics, strategic planning, financial analysis and special projects.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with diverse partner groups to execute all compliance activities for providing services to Cronos including legal
• Evaluate and provide competitive, category, and industry analysis that brings data insights into the process for strategic decision making in the new and evolving legal cannabis category
• Independently combine supply chain and finance experience to build business scenarios that lead to strategic recommendations in the legal cannabis industry
• Independently participating in and providing leadership to cross functional complex projects based on understanding of key business issues and strategies
• Serving as a critical thinking partner with teammates and providing training and guidance to service providers within the organization
• Represent management in business settings with limited guidance

We want you to have:

• 7+ years relevant CPG experience
• Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain preferred
• Prior project management experience with an understanding of project planning to meet deadlines
• Highly proficient with MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent business/financial acumen with outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills; and ability to translate analytical results into business recommendation and can effectively communicate those results to a wide range of audiences, including senior management and junior analysts
• Possess strong problem solving, critical and strategic thinking skills, and the creativity to find and try new solutions
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
