Altria Government Affairs department in Washington, D.C. is currently seeking a highly qualified Manager of Activations and Outreach to join our team. You will manage legislative and regulatory activations and assist with public opinion research for Government Affairs on federal, state and local issues.

You will:

* Manage grassroots activations, communications and outreach to stakeholders.
* Build and execute non-traditional activations programs and campaigns through social media and other digital engagement tools, and identify and implement new methods of outreach.
* Manage existing advocacy website and social media platforms, and expand digital outreach to new stakeholder groups.
* Craft and implement audience growth strategies, including developing and implementing creative solutions to attract new advocates, and developing and retaining existing advocates.
* Expand existing advocacy brand engagement, including in-person engagement at internal and external events.
* Assist with the design and implementation of primary research programs (including qualitative and quantitative studies) to develop strategies and tactics for advocacy campaigns.
* Develop, execute and apply research driven strategies to enhance efficiencies and constantly develop and test new advocacy tools.
* Handle multiple external vendors and consultants, lead multiple project teams, and strategically allocate resources and manage budgets.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal clients.
* Assist in the development of legislative and regulatory strategies as a participant in broader Government Affairs initiatives.

Specific Skills

Your experience includes:

* A Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 7 years of related professional experience, including extensive experience in grassroots issue advocacy and digital / social advertising or advocate outreach.
* Passion for grassroots advocacy and understanding what motivates people to take action.
* Working knowledge of statistics and public opinion research methods and protocols (more advanced knowledge a plus).
* Deep understanding of the legislative process and campaign management strategies.
* Broad exposure to government affairs, political campaigns and legislative activity.
* Excellent communication skills (written, interpersonal and presentation) as applied to a broad variety of stakeholder communities, (i.e. executives, shareholders, consumers, legislators, retail and trade partners).
* Validated influencing, collaboration and diplomacy skills, including influencing without authority and building strategic collaborative partnerships to engage diverse audiences.
* Critical thinking skills and the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and processes.
* Excellent analytical skills and ability to find creative solutions to complex problems.
* Talent and agility to work in a dynamic, high-pressure environment and be able to lead multiple projects with varying timelines.
