Do you want to put our skills to work as a Production Mechanic (Fixer) at our state-of-the art manufacturing center in Richmond, Virginia? Come join us at Philip Morris USA where you will play a vital role in making sure that our production facility is running smoothly so we can continue to do what we do best – manufacture highest quality products.

You will be expected to perform a variety of machine and equipment repair and maintenance activities on different types of equipment.

Your job duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Repairing machinery and equipment
* Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions
* Working with hand and power tools
* Working with measuring tools
* Rebuilding various machinery subassemblies and components
* Identifying and replacing faulty or work parts
* Performing routine preventive maintenance
* Responding to trouble calls
* Reading machine schematics or parts prints
* Reading machine and/or procedures manuals
* Operating equipment to ensure repairs have been made

The starting wage for these positions is $34.88 per hour with the opportunity to earn over $41.00 an hour after three years. You will be eligible for a shift differential payment of $0.40 per hour for working B-shift and $0.48 per hour working C-shift. Also, additional compensation may be available through our manufacturing incentive program.

Required Qualifications:

* Be at least 18 years of age
* Be eligible to work in the U.S. and for the Altria family of companies
* Be available to work any shift, and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays
* Possess journeyman mechanical credentials or relevant mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing/military environments
* Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
* Passion and willing to learn and grow

The offered position will be at Altria’s Philip Morris Manufacturing Center, located in south Richmond, Virginia on I-95. The Manufacturing Center is part of an Operations Center, which also includes Research & Development, Finance, and Engineering. Currently producing more than 400 million cigarettes per day, the manufacturing facility will have a capacity of 140 billion cigarettes per year, making it the largest cigarette producing facility in the world.
