Do you have expertise in IT procurement and IT category management? Do you have experience leading complex contract negotiations? Do you possess a Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain, information technology or equivalent? If so, then we have an opportunity for you. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Procurement Professional to join our Indirect Procurement department in Richmond, VA. You will lead and support technology procurement efforts to achieve the best possible value for Altria. This role leads the process to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate contract terms and pricing, and ensure that procurement programs are implemented in compliance with laws and company policies.

What will you be doing?

* You develop and execute effective IT procurement category management and negotiation strategies for technology solutions
* You effectively lead and negotiate complex IT contracts and provide recommendations for cost savings and contract simplification
* You identify and respond to customer technology and sourcing needs and requirements, including performing technology market research, benchmarking and analysis to achieve optimal business value
* You prepare, issue, and make supplier award recommendations through Request for Proposals, Request for Quotes, and/or Marketplace Assessments
* You identify new external technology and trends and apply findings to IT category management strategies
* You train customers on procurement and financial processes, policies and procedures
* You lead or support cross functional teams to identify cost savings
* You provide procurement consulting support to customers and project teams as they design and introduce new processes
* You prepare, analyze, and present business data

Specific Skills

What does your background and experience look like?

* You possess a BS/BA in procurement, supply chain, information technology or equivalent; MBA/graduate degree preferred
* You have 6+ years’ experience in procurement; prior experience with technology-related (e.g. software, hardware, “as-a-service”, etc.) procurement expertise strongly preferred
* You possess negotiating, influencing, and interpersonal skills (oral and written), including a comfort with presenting complex strategies and information to senior management
* You can read, understand, and negotiate complex contracts
* You possess solid project management and cross-functional leadership skills
* You have strong analytical and business aptitude
* Procurement professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management “CPSM” or equivalent) preferred
* Procurement and finance systems experience (e.g., Ariba, SAP R3) preferred
* You can accommodate travel up to 10% of the time
