To help us effectively and efficiently deliver on that strategy we are currently seeking a hardworking Supply Chain and Logistics Optimization Analyst to join our Modeling and Simulation team in Richmond, VA.

As an optimization analyst within the Modeling and Simulation team, you will research, develop, and implement quantitative models to improve operating efficiency. You will participate in performing data analysis and generating reports to address business needs under the mentorship of a senior member of the team.

Job Description

* Independently lead cross-functional projects to develop statistical and mathematical models to tackle supply chain problems across the business.
* Perform data analytics, forecasting, and optimization of related processes to support business decision making.
* Apply knowledge of supply chain and logistics including procurement, inventory, planning, and movement of materials and products according to the needs and objectives of the company.
* Seek opportunities to evaluate and improve existing supply chain plans to reduce the costs of transportation, distribution, and warehousing.
* Analyze model outputs and generate reports to provide recommendations to key partners. Effectively communicate and present results to the stakeholders and senior management.

Specific Skills:

* A Graduate degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related engineering and science discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in applying operations research and/or statistical modeling techniques. -Or-A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related engineering and science discipline with at least 5 years of related experience.
* Programming skills in at least one programming language (C++/Python/Java), math programming engine (CPLEX/Gurobi), Statistical package (R/SAS), SQL.
* Knowledge of mathematical modeling skills such as Linear Programming, Mixed Integer Programming, Heuristics, etc.
* Familiarity and experience with other analytical approaches (machine learning, statistics, etc.).
* Very strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
* Experience with SQL and relational databases.
* Familiar with cloud computing such as MS Azure.
* Experience developing dashboards using visualization technologies such as Tableau and Power BI.
* Ability to communicate effectively through oral presentations and written reports.
* Knowledge of software development methodology is a plus.
